Tamil cinema superstar, Talpati Vijay, made a big announcement at the first General Council meeting of his party Tamilga victorious Kazhagam (TVK). He claimed that the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections will be held only between TVK and DMK, while BJP and AIADMK would be completely out of the contest.

Vijay’s party will contest for the first time and says that this time the people of Tamil Nadu will see a new political scenario. Currently 66 of AIADMK, 21 of Congress and 4 BJP MLAs are in Tamil Nadu Assembly, but Vijay termed all these parties irrelevant.

MK Stalin directly attacked

Vijay launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister MK Stalin over law and order and women safety. They said,
“If ruled properly, it would not have been a condition of women’s safety and law and order. I cannot statement the atrocities that are being against women.”

Central government surrounds, opposed delimitation

Vijay strongly opposed the proposal of reconstruction of constituencies. He accused the Center of conspiracy to reduce Tamil Nadu’s political strength and said “We will not let it happen.”

Warning to Modi government on One Nation, One Election

Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposal of ‘One Nation, One Election’, Vijay warned in gestures. They said,
“Tamil Nadu is a state that has shown its strength many times. Stay careful sir!”

17 important proposals of TVK

TVK passed a total of 17 proposals in the meeting, including major issues:

  1. Opposition to delimitation proposal

  2. Demand to maintain Tamil and English by rejecting three-language policy

  3. Demand for opposition to Waqf (Amendment) Bill and withdrawal of it

It is clear from this aggressive attitude of Vijay that his party is preparing to give a tough competition to the DMK in the 2026 election and can bring a big change in the state’s politics.
