IPL Mega Auction: BCCI has released the list of 574 players who will participate in the IPL Mega Auction. Among the two names which surprised every fan, the first name is that of 13 year old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is continuously scoring runs in domestic cricket, while the second name is that of 42 year old England’s legendary bowler James Anderson. Both players have a place in the 574-man roster and both can be a part of the 204 slots available for all franchises.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the youngest player in the IPL auction
13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi came into limelight when he registered himself for the upcoming mega auction. He made his first-class debut in January 2024 at the age of 13. Playing for Bihar, he played a match against Mumbai in the elite group of Ranji Trophy. After which Suryavanshi scored a century for Under 19 Team India in the Youth Test against Australia. This batsman played an innings of 104 runs in 62 balls. With this he became the youngest batsman to score a century in the Test format. He became the second fastest batsman to score a century in the youth Test format. In the list released by BCCI, it is at number 419 and is the 68th set.
James Anderson is the oldest player
At the age of 42, veteran bowler James Anderson has got himself registered and has also entered the slot. Anderson has recently retired from international cricket. Meanwhile, there is hope that some franchise will buy them. Anderson has good experience of playing in the longer format. Anderson has a total of 704 wickets in his name in Test cricket. He is the highest wicket taker among fast bowlers in this format. Third in the overall list. He is behind Shane Warne’s 708 wickets and Muttiah Muralitharan’s 800 wickets.
