Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A review meeting was held in the assembly hall of the Administrative Complex Building on Tuesday to discuss arrangements for smooth darshan of devotees expected to arrive in large numbers in Ujjain on the occasion of New Year.
During the meeting, it was informed that general devotees visiting Mahakaleshwar Temple will begin their journey from Char Dham Temple parking area and enter through the designated entrance near Triveni Museum. From there, they will proceed via Nandidwar Building Facility Centre, Tunnel 01, Shakti Path, Triveni, Mahakal Lok, Mansarovar and New Tunnel 01-Ganesh Mandapam to have darshan of Lord Mahakal.
After darshan, they will exit through the emergency exit near Bada Ganesh Temple and reach Harsiddhi Temple intersection before returning to Char Dham Temple parking area to proceed to their destinations. If number of devotees increases significantly, arrangements will be made to facilitate darshan via both Facility Centre 01 exit ramp and Ganesh Mandapam or the new tunnel.
In case of further overcrowding, devotees will directly enter Kartikeya Mandapam for darshan and exit via Gate No 10 or Nirmalya Gate. In light of large influx of devotees, online and offline registrations for bhasma aarti will remain closed as per the annual tradition. Instead, arrangements for live bhasma aarti darshan will be made at Kartikeya Mandapam beginning at 4:15 am.
To ensure smooth access for devotees to Mahakaleshwar Temple and other essential facilities, flex boards will be installed along the entire darshan route, temple premises and exit gates to guide them to facilities such as shoe stands, vehicle parking, laddu prasadam counters, first aid stations and drinking water points. For security, CCTV cameras will be installed across temple premises and the entire darshan route. Continuous monitoring will be conducted from the control room via CCTV surveillance and LED screens to ensure safety of devotees. The meeting was attended by MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda, Ujjain Municipal Corporation speaker Kalavati Yadav, collector Neeraj Kumar Singh, SP Pradeep Sharma and others.
