Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old youth lost his life, and his brother-in-law was critically injured after a speeding vehicle hit their bike in Gwalior.
The accident happened near Jalalpur Tiraha around 1 AM on Monday-Tuesday night when the two were returning home after celebrating Makar Sankranti.
The victims, 22-year-old Manish Kumar and his brother-in-law Suraj Singh, were just 4 kilometers away from their house in Purani Chhawani when the incident occurred.
An unidentified vehicle hit their bike from behind and ran over them before fleeing.
Manish, who worked in a private company, died on the spot, while Suraj sustained severe injuries.
The police arrived at the scene and took both men to the hospital, where Manish was declared dead.
The Bahodapur Police have started investigating the case and are reviewing CCTV footage in the area to identify the vehicle responsible. However, no evidence of the vehicle has been found so far.
Bahodapur Police Station In-Charge Jitendra Singh Tomar stated that efforts are ongoing to track down the driver. This tragic incident highlights the need for stricter measures to curb reckless driving.
