Mumbai News: Ticket Inspector Dhananjay Yadav Collects Over Rs. 60K As Fines From Ticketless Passengers On Central Route | X|@Central_Railway
Mumbai: Ticket inspector Dhananjay Yadav of the Central Railway collected a total of Rs. 61,755 in fines from ticketless passengers. The Central Railway, in its X post, highlighted that on the very first day of the new financial year, Yadav detected a remarkable 225 cases of ticketless and irregular passengers. The Central Railway praised the ticket inspector for his dedication and outstanding performance.
During the peak hours of Mumbai’s local trains, many ticketless passengers travel without tickets, creating a challenge for the railway authorities. To tackle this issue, both Central and Western Railways have been conducting regular ticket inspections at key platforms, including Dadar, Ghatkopar, CSMT, and Thane.

In an X post by Central Railway stated, “A Phenomenal Ticket Checking Achievement! Double century of cases detected without/irregular tickets by Shri Dhananjay Yadav, TTI, on the very first day of the new financial year! On 01.04.2025, he achieved: Total Cases: 225 Amount Collected: ₹61,755/- Kudos for the dedication & outstanding performance!”

Some X users praised the efforts of the ticket inspectors, suggesting that they should be rewarded for their achievements to keep them motivated.
On the other hand, one of the users raised a concern about the lack of ticket checking after 9 PM. The user pointed out that many people travel in the first class without tickets, bypassing the usual checks.
Another user questioned the current fine amounts, asking why they can’t increase the fine amount for the ticketless passengers.
Meanwhile, in a similar ticket inspection done by, Sudha Dwivedi, a Ticket Inspector from the Mumbai Division, detected 202 cases of passengers traveling without tickets on the Central route in the month of March. She collected over Rs. 55,210 in fines from the irregular passengers. The Central Railway shared the announcement on X, congratulating her with the message: “Kudos to the rockstar, Ms. Dwivedi, for her dedication!”
