Officer on Duty is an action thriller film starring Kunchacko Boban as CI Harishankar, Priyamani as Geetha, Vishak Nair as Christy Savio, and Jagadish as Chandrababu, among others.

The Malayalam-language film was released in theatres on February 20, 2025, and will be released digitally in March 2025.

The crime thriller film will stream from March 20, 2025, on Netflix. Announcing the release on social media, Netflix shared the poster of the film on X and wrote, “Puthiya officer etheetund, stand in line and salute 🫡 Watch Officer on Duty on Netflix, out 20 March in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada.” The film explores themes of crime, investigation, the blurred lines between right and wrong, revenge, family, and the psychological toll on law enforcement officers. 

Plot 

The plot of the film revolves around a strict and hot-headed police inspector named Harishankar, who has recently been demoted to the position of Circle Inspector (CI). The story takes an intriguing turn when Harishankar receives a complaint about Chandrababu, who operates a jewelry racket. Unaware of the challenges ahead, Harishankar decides to investigate the case. What unfolds is a series of gruesome crimes that are even linked to his own tragic personal history.

The film is directed by Jithu Ashraf and written by Shahi Kabir. It is produced by Martin Prakkat, Siby Chavara, and Renjith Nair under the banner of Martin Prakkat Films. Apart from Malayalam, the film will also be available to watch in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada languages.
