The Indian cricket team can give opportunity to many young talented players in the upcoming three-match ODI series against England. Among these potential players, the names of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar, and Arshdeep Singh are coming out prominently.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: ODI debut of emerging opener?

Young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal is hopeful of getting a chance in the ODI team as a backup opener against England. Jaiswal has performed well in domestic cricket and IPL in his career so far. Due to his aggressive play and technical strength, the selectors can also consider him for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. If he performs well in this ODI series, his chances of being included in the Champions Trophy squad will become stronger.

Washington Sundar: New hope for spin department

Off-spinner Washington Sundar may be given a chance to play an important role in the bowling department in this ODI series. Sundar is not only effective in spin bowling but also provides balance to the team as a useful all-rounder. Sundar can also be a key part of the team for the Champions Trophy 2025, especially if he shows strength with both his bowling and batting in the ODI series against England.

Arshdeep Singh: Jump from T20 to ODI

Arshdeep Singh is currently a part of the T20 setup of the Indian cricket team, but there are strong chances of his selection in the ODI format as well. If Arshdeep gets a chance in this ODI series against England and he performs well in bowling, then he can be one of the main fast bowlers of the team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 also. His swing bowling can prove especially useful in English conditions.

Return of experienced bowler Mohammed Shami

Experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami is also expected to return in this series. Shami was out of the team for a long time due to fitness problems, but he is likely to get a fitness certificate from BCCI’s Center of Excellence (National Cricket Academy) soon.

Shami has recently caught the attention of the selectors with his brilliant performances while playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. He played his last international match for India in the World Cup final in November 2023, but now his return will strengthen the Indian fast bowling attack.

Nitish Kumar Reddy: Chance in T20 team

Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will not be included for this ODI series. However, according to reports, he may get a chance to play in the T20 series against England. Reddy has impressed everyone with his all-round abilities in domestic cricket, and his aggression in the T20 format could prove beneficial for the team.

ODI series schedule

The first ODI match of this series will be played on 6 February, the second match on 9 February, while the third and final match will be played on 12 February. After this, the Indian team will leave for UAE, where they have to play the matches of ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

This series will not only give a great opportunity to the young players to showcase their talent, but will also be a part of the preparations for the upcoming important tournaments for Team India.
