JEE Main 2025 Session 2: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially addressed the growing concerns from students, parents and coaching experts regarding irregularities in the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 provisional answer key and response sheets. This follows numerous complaints citing blank responses, mismatched answers, and potential inaccuracies in the provisional solutions released for the April session.
In a statement issued via its official handle on X (formerly Twitter), the NTA reaffirmed its commitment to a fair and transparent evaluation process. The agency clarified that the answer key and recorded responses are always released together to uphold transparency and give candidates the opportunity to review their performance.
“NTA has always followed a transparent examination process, which allows candidates to view their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys are released. The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional Answer Key with utmost seriousness,” the agency stated on X.
The NTA emphasised that the Answer Key Challenge process is a critical mechanism to ensure fairness in evaluation. Every objection raised by students is reviewed meticulously by subject experts.
“The purpose of the “Answer Key Challenge” process is to remove any anomaly and ensure fairness,” the NTA added.
Importantly, the agency clarified that the current answer key is provisional and that the final answer key which will be used to calculate candidates’ scores has not yet been released. The NTA also cautioned candidates against making assumptions or drawing conclusions based on the provisional keys.
“Drawing conclusions based on the provisional answer keys is not desirable. NTA would like to advise and inform candidates that they should not be misled by reports that create unnecessary doubt and anxiety,” the statement read.
The Times of India reported that at least nine disputed questions in the provisional key were pointed out by students from Kota India’s coaching center. According to the reports, these consist of two math questions, three chemistry questions, and four physics questions.
On April 12, the NTA made available the question papers and recorded answers for Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech), as well as the provisional answer key. It is expected that the JEE Main 2025 final results will be revealed soon.
