National Railway Mazdoor Union (NRMU) has announced its stunning victory on Central Railway in the recently held Union Recognition Elections on 4th, 5th & 6th December 2024.
This remarkable victory underlines the firm support and faith of the railway employees in the independent and principled leadership of NRMU. NRMU contested the election alone, against the NFIR affiliated CRMS and its seven associate unions and associations (RKS, CRABCEU, AIRSTSA, AIPMA and IRPWA NRMU stood strong against the combined might of the NRMU (including the NRMU), who collectively secured 45.18% of the votes. The singular efforts of the NRMU secured a commendable 41.58% share of the 30074 votes, thereby reaffirming its position as the leading credible voice of the railway employees. It was confirmed.
Comrade Venu P. Nair, General Secretary, NRMU (CR/KR) expressed his heartfelt gratitude to each and every railway employee who participated in the democratic process and cast their votes to NRMU. He said, “This victory is not only a testimony to our strength, Rather, it is a testimony to the unity and dedication of every member of NRMU across branches, divisions and workshops.”
NRMU’s victory in the union recognition elections with 41.58% of the votes highlights the militancy and commitment of its cadre. Despite working without external alliances, the union stood strong and won, thereby effectively leading the cause of railway employees. And its ability to raise sound was demonstrated.
To celebrate this achievement, NRMU has called for Vijay Rallies and Open Address to the workers in all branches and divisions today on 13.12.2024. These events are to uphold and protect the rights, welfare and dignity of railway employees. This will mark the beginning of the Union’s new commitment to the peace and security of the country.
This historic victory is a collective victory for all the workers, reflecting the values of unity, fairness and progress espoused by NRMU. As we move ahead, we remain a steadfast partner to every railway employee and hope to build a brighter, We promise to continue working towards a fair future.
