Islamabad: The month of November is becoming the ‘month of murders’ for Pakistan. Saying this, Pakistan’s leading English newspaper “Dawn” says that a total of 245 people including 68 security guards were killed in the same month. 127 terrorists were killed and 50 civilians were also killed in these clashes. Dawn’s report was based on information provided by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, an Islamabad-based think-tank.

“Dawn” further reveals that November is becoming the second deadliest month of the year. Earlier in the month of August, there were 254 deaths. This included the deaths of 92 civilians and 108 terrorists and 54 security guards were killed.

If we look at the number of deaths of security guards, the highest number of security guards were killed in November. In October also, 54 security guards were killed. Whereas in November this number reached 68.

While reporting the terrorist attacks, “Dawn” writes that 50 terrorist attacks took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. When 20 terrorist attacks took place in Balochistan. In which 26 security forces personnel, 24 civilians and 9 terrorists were killed.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, formerly known as the Frontier Province, and Balochistan province in the south-west are both dry hilly and mountainous regions. Both these areas have been in unrest for decades. In 2023, 114 security forces personnel were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

After Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, now Sindh has also become disturbed. There were 856 terrorist attacks in the country in 11 months of 2014. In which the deaths of 1082 people (including security guards and civilians) were recorded.

In short, the security system in Pakistan is deteriorating day by day. Also, Pakistan is becoming a “failed state” in an unusual economic crisis.
