Mumbai – Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandana’s film ‘Chhava’ has crossed the 300 crore collection figure at the box office, but meanwhile there is a possibility that the film may get involved in a legal controversy. The descendants of Ganoji and Kanhoji Shirke have issued a notice threatening a claim of Rs 100 crore and alleged that their ancestors were incorrectly depicted in the film. After this threat, the film’s director Laxman Utekar has also apologized to him.
The film shows Ganoji and Kanhoji Shirke betrayed Sambhaji Maharaj. Due to this, Sambhaji was imprisoned by Aurangzeb. Laxmikant Raje, a 13th -generation descendant of Ganoji and Kanhoji Shirke, has alleged that the film distorted historical facts and tarnish the reputation of their dynasty badly. He has given notice to filmmakers on this issue.
Director Laxman Utkar contacted the descendants of the Shirke family and apologized inadvertently to hurt his feelings. He also said that the film has not shown the full names of these characters or the names of their villages.
