Pooja Khedkar News : Delhi High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail of dismissed trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar. The court said, ‘Pooja Khedkar has betrayed not only that institution (UPSC) but the entire society. Therefore, a decision has been taken to reject his anticipatory bail. Apart from this, his interim security has also been cancelled.
Pooja accused of fraud
Pooja is accused of cheating in civil services examination and misusing OBC and disabled quota on the basis of false documents. For this reason he was arrested. UPSC also canceled his candidature and filed a complaint against him, dismissing him from the job.
UPSC canceled Pooja’s candidature
The central government has taken major action against Pooja Khedkar. The government dismissed Pooja from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) with immediate effect under Rule 12 of the IAS (Probationary) Rules, 1954. The government has taken action against Pooja for misusing OBC and disability quota in UPSC exams. Earlier, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had canceled Pooja’s candidature on July 31. Apart from this, Pooja was also barred from future examinations.
Pooja appeared for the exam under OBC and PWBD quota.
Pooja Khedkar appeared in the examination under OBC quota in 2020-21 under the name ‘Pooja Diliprao Khedkar’. After completing all the attempts in 2021-22, Pooja appeared for the exam under OBC and PWBD (Persons with Disabilities) quota. After this she took the name ‘Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar’. Pooja secured 821st rank at All India level.
Who is the sacked Pooja Khedkar?
Pooja Khedkar, a resident of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, was a trainee IAS officer. Thirty-two-year-old Pooja Khedkar was an officer of the 2023 batch and had secured 841st rank across the country in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination. He comes from a family of bureaucrats and politicians. Pooja’s father Dilip Rao Khedkar is a retired officer of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. He contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a candidate of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) party. Pooja’s mother is the sarpanch of Bhalgaon village. His grandfather was also a senior bureaucrat.
