North Korean Soldiers: North Korea disclosure in Russia-Ukraine war, sending soldiers for the first time

News India Live, Digital Desk: It has been three years since the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, but no solution or clear winner has been revealed so far. Ukraine’s President Volodimir Jailonsky has alleged on several occasions that Russia is taking help of North Korea in the war. However, Russia has been continuously denying these allegations. Now there is a significant turn in this dispute, when for the first time North Korea itself has admitted that it has sent its soldiers to help Russia.

The Central Military Commission of the ruling Workers Party of North Korea told the government media that leader Kim Jong Un had decided to send soldiers under the mutual defense agreement with Russia. Earlier, intelligence officials from the US, South Korea and Ukraine have also been constantly claiming to help Russia of North Korea. According to them, in the year 2024, North Korea sent around 10,000-12,000 soldiers to Russia. However, North Korea had not yet officially confirmed this.

According to North Korea’s statement, the soldiers have been sent to end Ukraine’s ‘Nav-Nazi occupiers’ and to liberate the Kursk area with the help of the Russian army. Kim Jong Un said that “those who fight for justice are our heroes and symbolize the respect of the motherland.”

At the same time, South Korean intelligence agency claimed in a report released in January 2025 that around 300 North Korean soldiers have been killed so far in the Russia-Ukraine Jung, while around 2,700 soldiers were injured. Despite this, North Korea and more soldiers are preparing to send Russia.
