Shatrughna on UCC and Non Wage Food: Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha praised the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Remove UCC shortcomings: TMC MP
Shatrughan Sinha said, “At first glance, the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand is commendable. The Uniform Civil Code should be implemented in the country and I am sure everyone will agree with me, but there are many shortcomings in it. ” The TMC MP said, “The problem is that the rules that can be implemented in North India cannot be implemented in the northeastern states. There should be an all -party meeting before preparing the provisions of UCC. ”
Gujarat also moved towards the Uniform Civil Code
After the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) by the BJP government in Uttarakhand, the BJP government in Gujarat has also started preparing to implement it as promised in its election manifesto. The state government has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Supreme Court Judge Ranjana Desai to assess the need of UCC and draft a bill for it. This committee will submit its report to the government within 45 days.
Uniform Civil Code implemented in Uttarakhand
The Uniform Civil Code has come into force in Uttarakhand from 27 January. After the implementation of the UCC, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the purpose of bringing the live-in relationship under the purview of the Uniform Civil Code is not to interfere in one’s privacy, but to provide social security to the youth. The purpose of this is that no sun can do cruelty against any faith like Delhi.
