Navi Mumbai: In an effort to improve its ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2024, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a large-scale campaign to encourage citizen participation in the cleanliness survey. Special teams have been deployed across the city to facilitate citizen feedback, a key component of the survey.

Navi Mumbai has consistently ranked among the cleanest cities in India and has now been included in the newly introduced “Super Swachh League” category under the Swachh Bharat Mission. To maintain and improve its ranking, the NMMC is urging residents to provide feedback on the cleanliness of the city through the official portal: https://sbmurban.org/feedback.

Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde has appealed to citizens to actively participate in the survey by answering 10 questions on the website. The feedback process aims to strengthen the city’s efforts towards maintaining high cleanliness standards.

“To ensure maximum participation, NMMC has launched an extensive outreach program using banners, standees, and QR codes placed at key locations such as cinemas, theatres, and traffic signals, where audio messages are also being played to create awareness,” said a NMMC official.

Educational institutions have also been engaged, with students encouraging their parents to take part in the survey. Special teams are visiting colleges and housing societies to gather responses. Recognizing the increased public movement during weekends, these teams are working actively on Saturdays and Sundays, covering malls, parks, and festival venues like Wonders Park, Rock Garden, and Jewel of Navi Mumbai.

“Citizen feedback plays a crucial role in determining the city’s ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2024. The initiative has already received a positive response from residents. We urge citizens to take part in the survey and motivate their family, friends, and colleagues to do the same,” the official said.

The corporation has also requested residents to cooperate with NMMC representatives reaching out for feedback.
