What did Mohammad Qasim write in the letter?
Mohammad was also a spokesperson of the Kasim district (East Champaran). He has also informed JDU state president Umesh Kushwaha and District President Manju Devi about their resignation through a letter. In a letter to Nitish Kumar, Qasim said, “Millions of Indian Muslims like us had unwavering belief that you are completely the flag bearer of secular ideology, but now this faith is broken.”
Qasim further wrote, ‘I am deeply saddened by the way Lallan Singh made his statement and supported this bill. The Waqf Bill is against our Indian Muslims. We cannot accept it under any circumstances. This bill violates many fundamental rights of the Constitution. Indian Muslims are being humiliated and maligned through this bill. Also, this bill is also anti -Pasmanda, which you neither realize nor your party. I regret giving so many years of my life to the party. So I am voluntarily resigning from the party’s primary membership and other responsibilities.
