Punjabis have suffered a major setback from NHAI. A project being constructed at a cost of crores of rupees has been banned in Punjab. The 4-lane project connecting the Amritsar-Katra Expressway has been stopped.
Let us tell you that this project was received on 12 May 2021. NHAI has canceled the contract on 25 February 2025 and one of the reasons for this is also said to be incomplete land acquisition. The cost of this project is said to be Rs 1071 crore under the EPC model.
Earlier, NHAI had imposed a ban, mainly due to the law and order situation. Two cases of misconduct with NHAI officials were reported, one from Ludhiana and the other from Jalandhar, after which NHAI has imposed the ban.
