To mark the centenary of the legendary actor, director, and producer Raj Kapoor, NFDC-National Film Archive of India (NFDC-NFAI) is hosting a special screening series in Pune. The series began on Friday, December 13, 2024, and will continue on Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, 2024. The screenings will showcase some of Raj Kapoor’s most iconic films, celebrating his enduring legacy. The exhibition includes restored 4K films and rare 35mm prints.

The series features selected films restored in 4K format under the National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, part of an initiative to preserve and promote India’s film heritage.

On Friday, December 13, 2024, the Raj Kapoor centenary screening series began with two iconic films. The evening featured a special 4K restoration of Anari (1959), directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, showcasing Raj Kapoor’s timeless charm and exceptional acting.

● 5:00 PM: Sangam (1964), Director: Raj Kapoor (Restored in 4K)
