Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A newlywed woman was found dead at her in-laws’ house in Jain Nagar in Lalghati area under Koh-e-Fiza police station on Friday night. While her husband and in-laws claimed that the woman hanged herself, the woman’s parents alleged foul play.
They created a ruckus outside post-mortem room on Saturday demanding probe into the woman’s death. An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway.
According to information, Aarti Dubey (28) was found dead in her room on Friday night. Koh-e-Fiza police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. On Saturday, her parents and family members arrived from Chhatarpur and created a ruckus at the mortuary. Her brother Ramprakash Chaturvedi said Aarti was fifth among six siblings and had completed MA in English. She was married to Akshay Dubey in April this year.
On in-laws’ demand, Rs 15 lakh was given to them but they were demanding Rs 5 lakh more. The husband and in-laws of Aarti were pressurising her to bring Rs 5 lakh more. Aarti had informed her parents and sisters about the harassment several times. On Thursday night, Aarti again called her kin and informed that her husband was harassing her for Rs 5 lakh.
On Friday, Aarti’s sister-in-law called her parents and informed that she was dead. Aarti’s kin claimed that they spotted injury marks on her body and alleged that she was strangled by her husband and in-laws for not fulfilling dowry demand. Koh-e-Fiza police station incharge Brajendra Marskule said no suicide note was found on the spot. Aarti’s husband and in-laws claimed that she committed suicide.
