Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a newborn baby boy was found abandoned in a sack on a heap of garbage in Bhopal’s Karond area, as reported on Sunday.
It is said that a driver heard the voice of the baby crying on Saturday night, after which he started to search. He then found the baby inside the sack.
The driver was identified as Mushtaq Khan, who had stopped near the garbage due to nature’s call. This is when he noticed movement inside a sack. After this, he opened it and found a newborn baby.
He immediately informed the Nishatpura police, who arrived at the scene and took the baby to the hospital.
Parents of child unidentified, probe on
According to police, there were no injury marks on the baby’s body. However, there are no CCTV cameras near the spot, making it difficult to identify who abandoned the child. The police are now scanning footage from nearby roads to trace those responsible.
The baby has been admitted to Kamla Nehru Hospital, where he is reported to be stable. Once discharged, he will be handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
The police have started an investigation into the case.
