Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In the upcoming second phase of Dial-100, the agency is all set to launch a women safety App ‘Take Me Home’, said officials here on Thursday. This is the first of its kind App developed by the Agency. The state Cabinet on Wednesday had given nod to Rs 1565 crore for the second phase of Dial-100 services.

The second phase of the Integrated Police Call Centre and Control Room System (Dial-100) will be operational from April 2025 to September 2030 (5 years 06 months). SSP, Vijay Kumar Khatri told Free Press as the name -‘Take Me Home’- suggests, the women who on the way home feel unsafe can use the App to reach their destination.

“The app is designed to be monitored in real-time. It will track a woman or girl heading home alone from a particular point. It will be especially helpful for working women and students of college or coaching classes, who may find themselves alone on deserted streets while returning home,” the official said.  “The women and girls will have to download the App on their mobile phone and when the alert button is pressed, a notification will be sent to control room operator.

The user will have to enter her home or destination address form her current location. The App will share a route to reach the destination safely,” the officer explained. “If the App detects any change or obstruction along the route, the control room will alert the nearest First Response Vehicle (FRV) and it will rush to the spot to her rescue.” he noted. The said facility will be available in the cities for short-distance travel, he added.
