The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is continuously giving new gifts to the districts of the state. The government is paying special attention to infrastructure to strengthen the state’s economic structure and improve transport facility. In this sequence, a new state highway will be built in Varanasi, which will reach Chaubepur via Kachhwa, Kapasethi and Babatpur.
More than Rs 73 crore will be spent on this highway project and 27 km long road will be built. The proposal for this project has been prepared and sent to the government for approval. As soon as permission is permission, the process of land acquisition will be started.
New State Highway in Varanasi: New path of development
Construction of State Highway will begin from Kachwan Road in Ajgara assembly constituency of Varanasi. This highway will be spread from Kapasethi, Babatpur and Chaubepur Road (State Road No-98) from 33.240 to 61.300.
Under this project:
The road will be widened, which will facilitate traffic.
Road repair and strengthening work will be done.
More than 50 villages will be connected to the highway, which will also develop in rural areas.
Budget and estimated cost
- The estimated cost of this project has been kept at Rs 73.71 crore.
- Public Works Department (PWD) will carry out this project.
- After the approval of the government, land acquisition and construction work will be started soon.
Chief Engineer’s statement: Land acquisition process will start soon
Chief Engineer Actor Kumar said that the proposal for this state highway project has been sent to the government. As soon as the government gets approval, the acquisition process will be started by starting the land measurement.
Apart from this, proposals for widening and improvement of several roads have also been prepared in other districts of the division. After getting approval, work will also start on these projects.
More than 50 villages will benefit from highway construction
This new state highway will not only work to reduce the distance between Varanasi and Chaubepur, but will also connect more than 50 gram panchayats by main routes. This will not only make movement easier in these areas, but will also provide many other benefits:

- The prices of the land of the villages from which the highway will pass will increase manifold.

What will be the timeline of construction work?
This highway project will be completed in two phases as soon as government approval is received:
- First phase (land acquisition and initial work)
- The measurement and acquisition process will begin.
- It may take 6-8 months.
- Second phase (construction and widening work)
- The road will be fully ready within about 2 years as soon as construction starts.
