There is great news for the people of Seemanchal and Kosi region of Bihar. Kishanganj-Jalalgarh and Kursela-Bihariganj new railway line projects hanging in the balance for a long time have finally got the approval of the central government. A budgetary allocation of ₹ 170.8 crore has been made for both these projects. This decision is being considered a historic step especially towards the development and connectivity of the region.
MP Pappu Yadav said – “10 times raised voice in the House, now funded funds”
Pappu Yadav, MP from Purnia, described this achievement as the victory of the public and said that,
“After the 2024 election, I raised the issue 10 times in Parliament and met the Railway Minister 5 times. Then the fund was released.”
He asked, targeting former MPs, “In his 10 -year tenure, how many times did he raise his voice for this railway line? The fund came in our time, he went back in his tenure – then where was his voice?”
Land survey was done in 1998, project was hanging for two decades
- The foundation of this project was laid in the year 1998 as the railway minister of Ram Vilas Paswan.
- The foundation stone was laid in Kursella in 1999.
- In 2008-2009, Lalu Prasad Yadav included it in the Railway Budget and the foundation stone was re-laid in Rupauli in February 2009.
- But even after the passage of more than 20 years, the project could not start.
Kursela-Bihariganj railway line: Lifeline for Seemanchal and Kosi
- This railway line comes under Samastipur Railway Division and will work to connect Seemanchal and Kosi area.
- Pappu Yadav gave it “Meal of regional development and employment generation” Told.
- He has demanded immediate removal of any restriction imposed by the Railway Board.
Supaul-Gughalia Araria railway line also got priority
The MP said that the Supaul-Gughalia Araria railway line is equally important for the Northeast Bihar. He has also written a letter to the government to start work as soon as possible of this project. This route will not only provide better connectivity to Araria and surrounding districts, but will also increase employment and economic opportunities.
