In order to facilitate traffic system in Uttar Pradesh and to get rid of the problem of jam, the government is continuously investing on infrastructure development. The construction of the overbridge (ROB) will not only make traffic easier, but it will also save people’s time and fuel.

Kanpur will get relief from jam

The construction of the Railway Overbridge (ROB) at the Panki stop in Kanpur and the Zarib outpost has been approved by the government. With the construction of these bridges, the problem of traffic jam on Kalpi Road will be overcome. After the approval of the government for the construction of the Panki stop and the construction of the Zarib Chowki ROB, it has been sent to the Finance Expenditure Committee for budget allocation.
In October last year, Setu Nigam had sent a proposal to construct seven railway overbridges, out of which two ROBs have been approved giving priority.

The Railway Corporation has proposed to build a four -lane overbridge.

  • A bridge will be built 1197 meters long and 16.50 meters wide at a cost of Rs 308 crore.

The problem of jam on Kalpi Road will end

Kalpi Road is one of the major national routes of Uttar Pradesh, which connects Delhi, Agra and Jhansi. This route is also important from industrial point of view because many big industrial units are located here, such as:

  • Stock Yard of Steel Authority of India Limited
  • Gangaganj Bottling Plant
  • Indian Oil’s Barauni-Pank Oil and Gas Pipeline
  • New transport city
  • Large industries of defense products

Earlier, public representatives had sent proposals for bridge construction and road expansion at Fazalganj and Vijay Nagar intersection on this route, but the government is not considering it at the moment.
