Netizens are upset with the current track of Asit Kumarr Modi’s much-loved television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as it shows Bhide’s daughter Sonalika aka Sonu getting engaged against her wish. Soon after the latest episode aired, a section of users took to social media to express disappointment over the separation track of Tapu (played by Nitish Bhaluni) and Sonu (Khushi Mali).
In the upcoming episode, Gokuldham Society members will be seen in shock as Pinku, Goli, and Gogi rush to the clubhouse with urgent news for Tapu – Sonu has gotten engaged to Abhinav, the boy who recently visited to discuss marriage. The revelation leaves Tapu stunned, and Tapu Sena grows anxious, fearing that if they don’t act quickly, Sonu might get married and leave both Tapu Sena and Gokuldham forever.
Determined to take action, Tapu steps out of the clubhouse and spots Sonu leaving in a car with Abhinav. But just as she’s about to go, Sonu secretly signals to Tapu that she doesn’t want this marriage. Without wasting a moment, Tapu makes a daring move – rushing toward the car as it approaches the Gokuldham gate, trying to bring it to a halt in a dramatic showdown.
Netizens call out makers for ‘cringe’ and ‘disappointing’ track
Soon after the promo was officially shared by the makers, a user wrote on social media, “Unnecessary drama… pointless.”
“Ye show itna cringe bhi ho gaya hein????” asked another user.
“This show is still running? Indian cinema needs to move on from their obsession of milking the already overused content they dont leave a single show to get a good ending until the writers and directors says no,” read another comment.
“Feels like saas bahu serial,” another user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Stop this show guyss don’t spoil our good old memories, mein toh aaj bhi wahi 8 years old episode dekhta hu,” a fan of the show commented.
A section of netizens also stated that they feel this will be a dream sequence of either Sonu, Bhide or Tapu.
About the previous episode
In the previous episodes, the makers showed that Joshi Kaka brought a marriage proposal for Sonu, and the boy’s family arrived at Bhide’s house to see her. Initially, Sonu was reluctant to meet them, but after Bhide’s persistent pleading, she finally agreed.
Meanwhile, Tapu Sena couldn’t contain their curiosity and grew increasingly restless, eager to find out what was happening at Sonu’s house. Determined to uncover the situation, Goli, Gogi, and Pinku came up with a plan to sneak into Bhide’s balcony through Sodhi’s house and catch a glimpse of the meeting.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah also stars Dilip Joshi, Nirmal Soni, Munmun Dutta, Amit Bhatt, Sunayana Fozdar, Sachin Shroff, Mandar Chandwadkar, Sonalika Joshi and others.
