Riyan Parag and Sara Ali Khan are making headlines once again, and this time it’s for cricket-related reasons. The Bollywood actress is all set to perform for the Guwahati crowd during the Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings match, while Parag will be leading the team in pink for the third consecutive match. Social media is buzzing with fans trolling both stars (Sara Ali Khan and Riyan Parag) once again, following the YouTube search controversy from 2024.
Here’s how fans reacted to the news
What is the Riyan Parag-Sara Ali Khan Controversy?
Parag’s search history was accidentally leaked during a livestream when he attempted to play some music. Fans quickly spotted an inappropriate search query related to Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey. As soon as people noticed this, it spread like wildfire on social media, turning the cricketer into the target of endless jokes. Recently, Parag spoke about the incident for the first time, revealing that it happened before IPL 2024, but only gained widespread attention afterward.
Speaking on City1016 Radio he said, “I finished the IPL, we were in Chennai, finished the match, got on a Discord call with my streaming team, and it got publicised now, but it happened before the IPL. One of the people in my Discord team tried to set me up before the IPL, but that got taken down very quickly. But then after the IPL, the hype was there, and I had a good season. I came and opened my stream, I didn’t have Spotify or Apple Music. Everything was deleted,”
Why is Rajasthan Royals playing matches in Guwahati?
Rajasthan Royals are one of the three teams in the IPL 2025 that have chosen to play their home games in multiple venues alongside Delhi Capitals (Visakhapatnam) and Punjab Kings (Dharamshala).
They have been playing two matches every season at Guwahati since the 2023 campaign when the home-away format returned post three seasons during the COVID-19 pandemic when the league was playing in a bubble. RR were first scheduled to play their first-ever IPL match in Guwahati in 2020 before the league was postponed and shifted to the UAE.
