Australian middle-order batter Travis Head’s unique celebration grabbed eyeballs after taking Rishabh Pant’s wicket on day five of the fourth Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Netizens reacted to it by claiming that it was utter disrespect by the South Australian, terming it ‘obscene and vulgar’.
The incident occurred in the 59th over of the innings as Pant went for the pull off the short-pitched delivery from Head but miscued. Mitchell Marsh, stationed at long-on, took a smart catch to break the stubborn stand of 88 between Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal. It was also the first wicket for Australia since the pre-lunch session as Jaiswal and Pant bunted down the hosts’ bowling unit.
