A homeless woman has gone viral on social media. Well, not for her begging on the streets or being donated a piece of bread. She has caught the attention of people for not compromising on her life despite being homeless and staying at the gym. She claims in her video that she chose to be homeless to avoid shelling out on rents and long bills. She had no worries of not having a home.

In a video, posted by TikTok user Destinee, a woman shared how she lives rent free and enjoys her life. Instead of narrating her struggle of homeless, she suggested her lifestyle to be economically rewarding. Her video has gone viral across social media platforms.

The woman revealed that she first attempted to live in her car, but couldn’t continue it for all her life. She said the hot temperature inside the car sometimes demanded her to look for a different accommodation. Destinee also pointed out that her act damaged the car and made it unusable. She then moved into a gym room, where she would take shower and groom herself for dates.

In the video, she recorded herself getting ready for dates and cleaning many makeup brushes.

Destinee recorded visuals of her 5×5 room and expressed she sleeps in a small space at work, which has a recliner, a lamp, a washbasin and a mini fridge. However, this doesn’t come completely free for her. She pays $75 a month to rent a storage unit for her belongings.

Internet reacts

The video attracted mixed reactions. While some questioned why she engages in dating, makeup, and ‘luxury’ life despite being a homeless person, others agreed with her on being homeless but not giving up on grooming. “Dating while homeless is absolutely insane”, one commented. “She has to keep her appearances up. Because you are homeless doesn’t mean you have to be dirty or not keeping your appearances up”, said another.

Some Instagram users shared their experiences of being homeless at once, suggesting it was much better than settling at the high rent flat. “I actually miss being homeless. I was HAAAAPPPPPY and free. I look at myself and I see the years wearing on me from these damn rent n bills and can’t have nun left to enjoy a lil of life. No one even knew it was homeless cause I lived similar to this”, one wrote claiming she saved 20k in 7 months.

Netizens wondered how the internet craze has taken over youngsters, making them ask for online access rather than a home to rest. “Homeless content creator? I’m done”, people wrote.
