Vijay Sethupathi’s Viduthalai Part 2 released in theatres on Friday (December 20) and it is receiving mixed reviews from fans and film critics. Fans thronged theatres to watch early morning shows of the film and they have flooded social media platforms with their reviews. The film is written and directed by five-time National Film Award-winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran.
On X, netizens have already declared the film a ‘blockbuster’. While some have lauded its dialogues and screenplay, others were all praise for its climax. Several users also stated that the film become more interesting post interval. Fans also lauded Vetrimaaran’s direction.

Viduthalai is a gripping crime drama which involves a rebellious leader (Vijay Sethupathi), who is being hunted down by a slew of policemen. Soori plays an idealistic police officer who gets caught in a web of lies and deceit and is in the constant quest for the ultimate truth. The film also stars Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon, and others.
The film is based on a short story ‘Thunaivan’, which was authored by Jeyamohan, who also co-wrote the screenplay of the film. The music of the film is by veteran music maestro Ilaiyaraja.
