After much-anticipation and hype, Salman Khan’s Sikandar released in theatres on Sunday, on the occasion of Eid, but fans did not really enjoy the festive gift from their beloved Bhai. While fans thronged the theatres on Sunday morning to catch the early shows of the film, they left being upset and disappointed with the screenplay, acting and the overall experience.
Netizens shared clips and stills from the film, and blasted the makers and the actors. “Zero effort, zero impact—#Sikandar is already a certified disaster. Salman, retire before the box office does it for you! (sic),” a user wrote on X.
Another user wrote, “#Sikandar is a dull action drama with a lifeless story that fails to engage. The background music is very bad, and except for a few decent action scenes, there’s nothing to enjoy. Biggest disaster for Salman and AR Murugadoss combo.”
A moviegoer wrote that Sikandar felt like a “mix of many movies” and lacked any fresh element. “#Sikandar is an action drama that bores from start to finish due to its outdated and bland screenplay. The storyline idea may have been emotional on paper. However, it feels lifeless and somewhat silly when translated on screen (sic),” the review read.
Some netizens compared Sikandar to Salman’s previous works and claimed it to be “worse than Radhe and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan”. They also called the film a snoozefest.
If the bad reviews weren’t enough, the film was hit with the piracy menace on Saturday evening, just hours before its theatrical release, and it can cause a huge dent to the box office collection. As per reports, the makers pulled the pirated version down from 600 websites on Saturday night, but in vain.
Sikandar marks Salman’s first collaboration with Ghajini director, AR Murugadoss. The film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, and others in key roles.
