Nani and Srinidhi Shetty’s Hit: The Third Case or Hit 3 released in theatres on Thursday (May 1). The film, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, opened to mixed reviews from the audience as well as critics. First-day, first-show audiences and early morning viewers of HIT 3 took to social media to share their reviews, flooding platforms with reactions.

A section of X (formerly known as Twitter) users praised Nani’s performance and called the second-half interesting with gripping scenes.

Others stated that the core crime-solving part in the film wasn’t engaging or unique as it followed a formula. Netizens also expressed disappointment with the emotional depth of characters.

The background music also failed to impress critics as they stated that it lacked impact and did not enhance the scenes.

“#HIT3Review Nani did a great job, the final act was intense, and the story idea was good 👌But the investigation felt routine, emotions were weak, and BGM was flat. Verdict: A decent thriller with some strong moments,” a review read.

An X user wrote, “Hit3 Gritty & violent thriller with flashes of brilliance. The pre-interval shift ramps up engaging, leading into a second half inspired by Squid Game, packed with cinematic highs, especially in the pre-climax and climax.”

Take a look at some other reactions here:

The story of the film revolves around Arjun Sarkaar, played by Nani, a top officer from Visakhapatnam, who is assigned to Jammu and Kashmir to probe a string of brutal murders. As he chases a shadowy group of killers, the case pushes his investigative skills and mental resilience to the edge.

The film also stars Surya Srinivas, Rao Ramesh, Samuthirakani, Prateik Babbar and Adivi Sesh.
