The rivalry between India and Pakistan has always been an intense affair. Th rivalry will be renewed next month during the Champions Trophy 2025 when both teams face each other in UAE. Ahead of the high-octane clash Netflix released the poster of the docu-series which said
“Two nations. One epic Rivalry. 1.6 Billion prayers. Come witness the thrill of a legacy like no other in The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan, arriving on 7th February, only on Netflix.” In the poster, Sachin Tendulkar and Sehwag can be seen walking on to the middle as the Pakistan team are in a huddle.
About the ‘Greatest Rivalry’ On Netflix
Directed by Chandradev Bhagat and Stewart Sugg, the docu-series would feature interviews of legends of the game like Sourav Ganguly, Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, Shoaib Akhtar, Inzamam Ul-Haq, Waqar Younis, Javed Miandad, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Due to the political tension between both nations, Indian and Pakistan cricket teams haven’t played a bilateral series in over a decade. The last bilateral series between these two teams was when Pakistan visited India in 2012-13.
Since then, they have only played together in ICC multi-team events like World Cup, Asia Cup, and Champions Trophy. Even now, in the upcoming Champions Trophy to be conducted in Pakistan, India would be playing its matches in a neutral venue in Dubai.
Champions Trophy 2025
Both Pakistan and India have been kept in the same group alongside Bangladesh and New Zealand. India will be playing against Bangladesh on February 20 and New Zealand on March 2, with all their matches to be held in Dubai. The match against Pakistan will be held on February 23rd. Pakistan, the defending champions, will kickstart the tournament in Karachi against New Zealand on February 19, and their last league match will be against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on February 27.
