Benjamin Netanyahu: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to put aside his health and go to the Parliament (Knesset) to vote on an important bill. 75-year-old Netanyahu, who recently underwent prostate surgery, was advised by the doctor to take complete rest during treatment. But Netanyahu appeared worried and took leave from the hospital to participate in a debate on the passed war spending bill.
Why is Netanyahu scared?
The reason for Netanyahu’s nervousness is the 2025 budget and war spending bill, which has not received full support in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s coalition government. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gavir, who was part of the coalition, opposed the bill and said it would harm the police force. He has also accused Finance Minister Bejlal Smotrich of not talking on the budget.
Netanyahu did not follow doctor’s advice
Idasah Medical Center spokesman Hadar Elboim said doctors had advised Netanyahu not to leave the hospital. But, the Prime Minister had made up his mind to reach Parliament. However, during this period his personal doctor will remain with him. According to reports, Netanyahu will return to the hospital after voting in Parliament.
In fact, Netanyahu is included in the list of elderly leaders of the world, which includes US President and 82-year-old Joe Biden, newly appointed President and 78-year-old Donald Trump, Brazilian President and 79-year-old Luis Inasia. Lula da Silva and 88-year-old Pope Francis remain in the news due to age and health issues.
