Kathmandu, 28 November (HS). Foreign Minister Dr. Arzoo Rana left on an official visit to China on Thursday. On the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, his visit to Beijing is now going to be till Chengdu only. The bilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of both the countries will be held in Chengdu itself. This is Dr. Rana’s first visit to China as Foreign Minister. Acting Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs Amrit Rai and other officials saw him off at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
During her visit, Foreign Minister Rana is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Chengdu, Sichuan province on Friday. This visit comes ahead of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s planned visit to China next week. Foreign Minister during his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang in Chengdu on conveying the message of the Rana Oli-led government and the agenda of the PM’s proposed visit to China and implementing projects under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Will present Nepal’s proposal. After this, Minister Rana is scheduled to return to Nepal on Saturday.
