Now it is mandatory for every member designated in the ration card to link to Aadhaar, and the time limit has been extended.
Earlier this process was to be completed by 31 March 2025, but now its new last date has been fixed on 30 June 2025. This will provide relief to millions of cardholders, especially those who could not get seding on time.

In a press release on 4 April 2025, the Department of Food and Consumer Protection said that:
- Now by 30 June 2025, Aadhaar seeding of all ration card members has been made mandatory.
- This process will be free.
- This work can be done easily with EOPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) machine available at any TPDS seller shop.
- The ECWC system there can link the base of any member.
What will happen if Aadhaar is not seeded?
This warning has also been issued that:
“If a member’s Aadhaar card is not linked to the ration card till 30 June 2025, his name will be removed from the card from 1 July 2025.”
- This means that that member will not get the benefit of government ration.
- Also, the whole family will be deprived of the grain of that member’s share.
- If a complaint is made further, it may take a lot of process and time to add the name again.
How to Seeding Aadhaar? Know easy process
You can easily seed Aadhaar in the following ways:
- Go to the nearest ration shop where EOPOS machines are available.
- Take a copy of ration card and Aadhaar card with you.
- After biometric verification on the machine, seeding will be done through the ECWC system.
- This process is completely free of cost, you do not have to pay any fee.
Why is it necessary to complete the process on time?
- If you have not done this process yet, then you have about three months.
- Many families are worried about the problem related to Aadhaar seeding, so do not wait for the last day.
