Nearly 25 two-wheelers on Hyderabad’s Kushaiguda-Nagaram road skidded during their ride on Saturday night, leaving bikers hurt. The incident took place due to the condition of the road, which was affected after an oil tanker leaked its fuel there.

According to reports, the vehicles saw a risky ride and turned dangerous for several motorists due to oil spillage on the city road. While no major accident was reported, people suffered minor injuries at the incident.

Oil tanker leaked fuel on road

The road turned unfit for smooth vehicular movement after an oil tanker passed on it earlier that day. The fuel tanker was said to be moving towards Keesara area, having started from the ECIL direction. It was reported that the oil tanker spilled some fuel on the road, impacting commute of other vehicles thereafter.

A video, posted by Hyderabad-based journalist Mohammed Baleegh recorded visuals from the spot, showing motorists fallen on the road after they lost their balance on the greasy road.

Traffic diverted, sand and sawdust sprayed on road

The fuel spillage incident was soon intimated to the nearby police station for necessary action. However, before they arrived at the spot to facilitate and clear the fuel on the busy road, a few two-wheelers had already passed the route. These vehicles skidded leading to motorists falling on the road.

The DRF team from GHMC and local police looked into the matter.

Soon, they alerted people to take a traffic diversion. Sawdust and sand was sprayed on the fuel-spilled road to normalise it. A while later, regular movement resumed on the Kushaiguda-Nagaram road in the city.

As of Sunday afternoon, the fuel tanker driver was not identified. No case was filed against the person.
