The NDPS court acquitted three men arrested in May 2011 for possessing 1.4kg of cannabis. The prosecution failed to produce a forensic report confirming the substance was narcotic. The Bandra police had arrested the men during a trap based on secret information.

The defence argued that the evidence was insufficient and pointed out discrepancies in police testimonies. The court said that there were lapses in procedural documents and highlighted the absence of crucial evidence, leading to the acquittal.

The court noted that even Pardeshi, who did not appear in court, should be acquitted due to insufficient evidence to support the charges against any of the accused.
