The National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL), at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has nominated 55 school leaders from across the country to participate in its forthcoming national conference on school leadership.
The event, titled “National Conference for School Leadership: Exemplars of Change and Innovation,” is scheduled to take place from 8 to 10 January, 2025 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
This conference will provide a platform for selected school principals and heads to showcase their leadership practices that have brought changes in education. As part of its initiative to highlight school leadership, the NCSL invited case studies and video documentaries from the heads of government and government-aided schools on various themes.
This effort elicited over 300 submissions, out of which 55 submissions were selected following a review process. The selected leaders also included three entries from Maharashtra. These participants will present their initiatives at the conference, focusing on their contributions to improving educational quality and fostering change in their institutions.
Through this event, the NCSL seeks to honour and promote leadership practices that have had an impact on the education sector. It aims to encourage school leaders nationwide to adopt solutions to educational challenges. As part of its broader mandate, the NCSL organises programmes, seminars, and conferences to support school leadership across India.
