In Chhattisgarh, security forces achieved great success and arrested dreaded Naxalite leader Prabhakar Rao with a reward of Rs 25 lakh. Prabhakar has dozens of criminal cases registered against him in states like Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. He was a close associate of the top leaders of the Maoist organization and the head of the organization’s logistics supply.
Security forces caught in Antagarh
Prabhakar was arrested near Antagarh police station area in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Bastar Range IG Sundarraj P. said he was a member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) of the banned CPI (Maoist).
The IG described it as a major achievement in the fight against left-wing extremism. He said:
“57-year-old Prabhakar had been working for the organization for the last 40 years. His arrest will play an important role in controlling Naxal activities.”
Prabhakar’s Naxalite journey
Prabhakar, who joined the Naxalite ranks in 1984, was a member of the organization in its early days. Later he took charge of the Logistic Supply and Mobile Political School (MOPOS) team.

Kanker Police was getting information about the activities of Prabhakar Rao for some days. Based on this, on Sunday, security forces laid siege to Antagarh police station area and arrested Prabhakar.

Many serious cases are registered against Prabhakar Rao in Chhattisgarh including Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
