A fierce encounter between security forces and Naxalites took place on Monday morning in Bokaro district of Jharkhand. The joint action of CRPF and Jharkhand Police has so far confirmed killing 8 Naxalites. The Naxalites killed include Naxalite Vivek of one crore rupees. The encounter is still going on and many Naxalites are feared hiding.
Operation in Lugu hills
The encounter started at around 5:30 am in the Lugu hills of Lalpania area of Bokaro district.

The operation includes a team of 209 Cobra Battalion, State Police, and other security agencies of CRPF.

So far an INSAS rifle and a SLR (self -loading rifle) have been seized.

The CRPF said that there has been no harm to the security forces so far.

The CRPF said: “4 Naxalites were killed during an encounter in Lugu hills in a joint operation with the state police. The intermittent firing still continues.”
