OTT Showing Half Of Things Happening In Society: Nawazuddin Siddique During His Film Promotion In Bhopal | FP Photo
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Vulgarity on social media is more prevalent where youths wear strange costumes and show off more than the content released on OTT platform and movies, said Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who was in the city to promote his newly released movie, Costao, in which he is playing the lead role.
The movie is a biopic of a real life hero Antonio Fwaminy da Costa, a fearless customs officer in Goa who led an operation against gold smuggling racket involving some big names in 1990s.
Answering a question on obscenity on OTT platforms, Nawazuddin said the content on OTT was showing half of the things happening in the society. Nawaz shared his experiences and struggle as a BSc student, his job as a chemist, his life as theatre artiste and finally a Bollywood actor.
Interacting with media persons on Tuesday, Nawazuddin said, “Theatre artistes often move to Mumbai to work in movies for survival. Theatre is a place where one can explore himself and more recently people are showing interest in theatre, he said. “I suggest that parents should take their children to theatres for witnessing the live performance of artistes that will also help in their survival,” he added while expressing concern for children’s addiction to mobile phone and social media.
“For me, acting is more important and I want to act everyday. I am not concerned if the movie is released in cinemas or OTT,” Nawaz said when asked whether OTT gave more opportunities to actors. However, he said that he was willing to perform at theatre again if given a chance.
