Speaking at the ‘India 2047: Self -reliance in war’ in New Delhi, the Navy Chief said that the Indian Navy is constantly monitoring China’s activities and has not been allowed to set foot in any unwanted region. He said, “China is increasing its presence not only in the oceans, but also on the ground. The PLA Navy, which is the world’s largest navy in terms of number, keeps its warship deployed in the Indian Ocean Region despite the end of the dacoity. ”
China’s excuse and India’s strategy
The Navy chief said that China strengthened its presence in the Indian Ocean region by making an excuse to fight piracy, but now it is clear that its intentions are different. He said, “We know that they are involved in activities like illegal and irregular fishing, but we are sure that they cannot harm our interests.”
Vigilance on the growing military partnership of China-Pakistan
Admiral Tripathi also said that China has been providing naval equipment and systems to Pakistan for the last two decades. Since 2009, China has given Pakistan three frigates (F-22 and Type 054), a satellite monitoring vessel, and submarines, leading to the threat to India’s maritime security.
He insisted that the Indian Navy is cautious about this challenge and is taking strategic measures to deal with any possible threat. He also clarified that India is fully prepared to combat any threat arising out of the growing maritime cooperation between China and Pakistan.
