The holy festival of Navratri has started today, March 30. In this nine -day festival, various forms of Mother Goddess are worshiped every day. On the first day, mother Shailputri is worshiped and she has a tradition of offering offerings made of milk and ghee. On this auspicious occasion, you can offer Makhana Barfi to Mata Rani. This barfi is delicious and nutritious and can also be eaten during fast. Let’s know the easy recipe to make it-

Material for Makhana Barfi:

1 cup makhana
½ cup of cashew
4-5 tablespoons ghee
2 tablespoons grated coconut
½ teaspoon cardamom powder
1 cup milk
1 cup desi khand (jaggery powder/sugar option)
3-4 teaspoon finely chopped pistachios
Some saffron fibers

Method of making Makhana Barfi:

1. Frying Makhana and Cashew:

  • Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the makhans in it till it becomes crisp.

  • Then fry the cashews till it becomes light golden.

  • After cooling both of them, grind them finely in a grinder and make powder.

2. Preparing the mixture:

  • Now add milk to a pan and boil it.

  • After boiling, add makhana-kaju powder to it.

  • Now add grated coconut and cardamom powder.

  • Prepare a thick mixture while stirring continuously.

3. Barfi era and cutting:

  • Now prepare a soft dow by mixing it as per taste.

  • Apply light ghee on a plate and spread this mixture in it.

  • Garnish with pistachios and saffron on top.

  • Allow it to be set in the fridge for some time, then cut into barfi shape.
