Material

1 cup of rice
1/4 cup sago
1/2 inch ginger
2-3 green chillies
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 tbsp oil
Rock salt
1/2 cup yogurt
1 packet eno (to make an instant bloated dhokla)

For tempering

1 tbsp oil or ghee
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Curry leaf (a handful)
1-2 green chillies (cut from the middle)

Falahari Sama-Sabudana Dhokla Method

1. Prepare the batter

First of all wash the rice and sago of Sama thoroughly and soak it in water for some time.
When both swell well, add ginger, green chillies, cumin, rock salt and curd to the mixer jar.
Blend it well so that a smooth and thin solution is formed.
Now add 1 tbsp oil to this batter and blend it again.
Remove the prepared mixture in a vessel and mix it with the eno with light hands.

2. Cook Dhokla

Add light oil to the mold of Dhokla and put the batter.
Now keep it in a steamer and steam for 15-20 minutes.
After cooking, add toothpick and check – If the toothpick comes out clean, then the dhokla is ready.
Remove it from the steamer and let it cool slightly.

3. Pour tempering

Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and chopped green chillies and lick it well.
Pour this ready temper over the dhokla.

Serving tips

Cut Falahari Sama-Sabudana Dhokla into pieces and serve with fasting green chutney or curd.
It is light and easy to digest as well as gives energy, which does not make weakness during fasting.
