Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has given another big gift to the common people on the occasion of Navratri. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the period of Vikram Trade Fair has now been extended till 9 April 2025. Along with this, the facility of 50% discount in motor vehicle tax implemented for car and bike buyers has also been increased till April 9.
Where is getting discounts?
This exemption is a special facility available during the ongoing Vikram trade fair in Ujjain. Earlier this discount was effective till 30 March 2025, but now it has been extended till 9 April 2025 so that more and more people can avail this scheme.
Which vehicles are getting discounts?
Under this scheme, 50% discount is being given in Life Time Road Tax on the following types of vehicles:
- Non-transit vehicle such as:
- Two-WHEELERS
- Motor Car (Four-WHEELERS)
- Omni bus for personal use
- Light transport vehicles, which are commercially used but limited.
How to get benefits?
- This exemption will only apply to the vehicles purchased during the fair in the year 2024-25.
- The customer will have to buy a vehicle at the Vikram Mela site of Ujjain or from the dealership attached to it.
- The tax exemption will be valid under the State Government’s notification dated 14 January 2025.
What is the basis of exemption?
This exemption has been given using the powers obtained by the state government under the Madhya Pradesh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act. In the order issued by Transport Secretary Manish Singh, it has been clarified that this decision has been taken with the aim of giving relief to the general public and encouraging the sale of vehicles in the fair.
