Navi Mumbai: A month-long traffic diversion has been announced in Navi Mumbai due to segment launching work at the Mulund-Airoli Creek Bridge near Sector 4, Airoli. The work, carried out by J Kumar Infra Projects Ltd., will require a complete closure of the road from Jama Masjid, Sector 17, to Shriram Vidyalaya from March 14, 2025, at 12:01 AM until April 13, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade, the closure is necessary to ensure public safety and smooth execution of the project. The decision has been taken under the Motor Vehicles Act Sections 115, 116(1)(a)(b), and 117.
“The work is mainly the segment launching or Airoli-Katai bridge and hence the internal roads will face diversion,” police inspector Sanjay Bende from Rabale traffic unit said.
To facilitate movement, alternative routes have been assigned. Vehicles traveling towards Sector 3 via Patni Road must take a right turn at Jama Masjid and proceed via Sector 17, Datt Mandir Road to reach their destination. Similarly, vehicles coming from Bharat Bijlee towards Shriram Vidyalaya, Sector 3, must take a left turn and use Airoli Sector 5 Road.
The traffic restrictions will apply to all vehicles except those belonging to J Kumar Infra Projects Ltd. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and cooperate with authorities to avoid inconvenience.
