Navi Mumbai Police Impose Heavy Vehicle Restrictions On March 14 For Martin Garrix’s ‘World’s Biggest Holi’ Event | Martin Garrix/ Pinterest

To ensure smooth traffic flow and security during the ‘World’s Biggest Holi’ music event featuring Martin Garrix at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium, Nerul, the Navi Mumbai Police have imposed restrictions on heavy vehicle movement and parking on March 14, from 2 pm to 12 am.

The Navi Mumbai Traffic Department has announced a complete ban on the entry, movement, and parking of heavy goods transport vehicles across all city routes within the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate limits during the specified time. The decision was made following a request from the Senior Police Inspector, Turbhe Traffic Division, to prevent traffic congestion and ensure the safety of artists, VIPs, and spectators attending the event.

The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade, is in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act, Sections 115, 116(1)(a)(b), and 117, as per a Maharashtra Government Home Department notification dated September 27, 1996.

However, the restrictions will not apply to vehicles carrying essential commodities, police vehicles, fire brigades, ambulances, government vehicles, or emergency services. Additionally, vehicles with official passes for event management will also be exempt.

“Commuters should keep in mind that traffic that could happen on the roads near DY Patil stadium and should plan their travel accordingly,” DCP Kakade said.
