The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (CIDCO) on Monday announced that its Navi Mumbai Metro, operated by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) has been awarded ISO certifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, recognizing its commitment to maintaining the highest standards in Quality Management, Environmental Management, and Occupational Health & Safety.

“CIDCO has worked tirelessly with Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited to implement stringent systems and protocols across all aspects of metro operation and maintenance. The ISO certifications reinforce CIDCO’s commitment to providing world-class metro services while prioritizing quality, sustainability, and safety. Again, it has underscored CIDCO’s prominence in urban development and infrastructure sectors,” Vijay Singhal, VC and MD, CIDCO, said.

Navi Mumbai Metro line received all three ISO certification in very first year of operation and it is the only line in Maharashtra to have all three ISO certification, CIDCO claimed. The certificates awarded by British Standards Institution (BSI) through Maha Metro Rail Corporation are received by Shantanu Goel, Joint Managing Director, CIDCO.

“These prestigious ISO certifications are a testament to CIDCO’s continuous efforts in improving the operational excellence of Navi Mumbai Metro,” an officer from CIDCO said.

With the award of these certifications, CIDCO intends to continue to set a benchmark for metro systems in India. “The Navi Mumbai Metro is now poised to deliver enhanced services, prioritizing quality, safety, and environmental sustainability,” Singhal added.

ISO Certifications

ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management): This certification highlights Navi Mumbai Metro’s focus on delivering consistently high-quality services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and enhancing the operational efficiency of the metro system.

ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management): The certification underscores CIDCO’s commitment to sustainable practices in metro operations, aiming to reduce the environmental impact, enhance resource efficiency, and contribute to the preservation of the natural environment in the region.

ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management): This certification reflects CIDCO’s proactive approach in safeguarding the health and safety of all employees and workers involved in metro operations, ensuring a safe working environment through stringent health and safety protocols.
