Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Traffic Police has imposed a ban on heavy vehicles from 2pm to midnight on April 6, 2025, due to the high-profile football match between Real Madrid Legends and FC Barcelona Legends at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium, Nerul.

The restriction aims to prevent traffic congestion and ensure security for players, VIPs, and thousands of spectators attending the event. Heavy and oversized vehicles will be prohibited from entering, traveling through, or parking on city roads within the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate’s jurisdiction during this period.

The traffic control order was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade, citing a report from Turbhe Traffic Division. According to the order, vehicles carrying essential commodities, police, fire brigade, ambulances, government vehicles, and those with official event passes will be exempted from the ban.

Authorities have urged motorists and transport operators to plan alternate routes in advance to avoid inconvenience. “The restrictions are being implemented as a preventive measure to ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety on the event day. Citizens are requested to cooperate,” DCP Kakade said.
