National Highway: Rajasthan will get 21 new national highways, approval of ₹ 5,000 crore from Center

News India Live, Digital Desk: The state government has announced 21 new national highways for the development of road networks in Rajasthan. State Deputy Chief Minister Dia Kumari said on Wednesday that the central government has approved new projects worth about ₹ 5,000 crore for these projects.

Dia Kumari said that the movement of these new highways will be convenient in the state. He informed that a historic budget of ₹ 17,384 crore has been allocated this year on the development of roads in the state plan, which was ₹ 12,620 crore last year.

Major road projects will start in the state

Under the projects of these 21 national highways, the Public Works Department will include important projects like four-lane expansion of Nagaur-Netra road, Raipur-Jassakheda Marg, Gangapur City bypass and Karauli bypass. Apart from this, improvement work will also be done in 13 black spots probably likely to accident in the state.

The state government has expressed gratitude to the Central Government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Rajasthan government setting new standards of development

Deputy Chief Minister Dia Kumari said that the double engine government of Rajasthan, led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, is setting new standards of development. He said that the state government is constantly trying to construct rural roads, large district roads (MDR) and state highways (State Highways).

State Additional Chief Secretary Praveen Gupta said that last year, ₹ 1300 crore roads were built from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), which is the highest amount so far. He informed that with the active efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Dia Kumari, effective and quick work has been ensured for road infrastructure development.
